We are excited to announce another addition to our festive extravaganza on Saturday 29th November – a Festive 5k Run with the Swifty Mondays!

Local inclusive Run Club Swifty Mondays usually meet at the Dean Swift Pub, but in this special festive edition they will be hosted at MAX+BETTY. Swifty Mondays are a friendly group who enjoy running and socialising. There’s a very mixed range of pace and distance in the group from social joggers to ultra runners, so there’s always someone to run with if you want to join in!

Meeting at 12pm, runners can drop bags safely at MAX+BETTY before grabbing your Santa hat and setting off on a mixed pace 5k run, with regular regrouping to keep everyone together.

After the run wrap up warm and explore the various cafes in and around Courage Yard for some festive treats, including: WatchHouse, Blue Duck Cafe, Sami Lebanese and Starbucks. Our festive mini market will have stalls selling Christmas gifts like wreaths, teas and condiments. And of course, head into MAX+BETTY for the ultimate christmas gift shopping experience.

The event is free to attend, but we’ll be collecting donations for the Albert Kennedy Trust (akt), a charity that provides housing support for LGBTQIA+ young people facing homelessness or unsafe living conditions. Around 24% of young homeless people aged 16–25 identify as LGBTQIA+, and akt’s work is vital in offering them safety and support.

Finally, get in the Christmas spirit with a performance from A Capella sensations Semitoned at 2:30pm!

Blue Duck Cafe are also putting on some special offers for runners on the day:

  • Combo A — Runner’s Refuel (£9.95): Savoury Ham & Cheese Croissant + Regular Coffee/Tea
  • Combo B — Light & Fit Breakfast Bowl (£8.50): Fresh Start Granola Bowl + Hot Drink
  • Combo C — Recovery Treat (£7.50): Seasonal Cake Slice + Regular Coffee
